The Michael Goodman Experience...

Michael Goodman has been performing professionally for over fifteen years, playing various venues big & small. Michael was born into a musical family. His dad played banjo in various bluegrass groups while his grandfather was a Gene Autry influenced guitar player. Michael’s parents were close friends with Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe and therefore Bill was a direct influence in his life. Most of Michael’s youth was spent backstage at the Grand Ole Opry where he learned the joys of creating music. He started writing songs at the age of thirteen as a way to express himself. From then on Michael has been in pursuit of great musical accomplishment. Over the years he has learned to play several instruments and experimented with musical creativity.

After years of solo work and being part of other bands Michael formed his own band, The Michael Goodman Experience, in 2004. The band has evolved over time to adapt to Michael’s vision. He strives to carry the torch for music that doesn’t seem embraced by modern radio but still in demand by fans. Part of the basis for the name of the band comes from Michael’s desire to give people an experience they can’t get elsewhere. You will not likely hear the same old tired tunes that get over played by other bands. Michael would prefer to bring something more genuine and real. That was the reason for writing the song “Carrying On What Nashville Left Behind”, a song about rebellion towards some current radio artists. You can hear many different influences in his original songs, from Waylon Jennings to Bill Monroe, but he wants to put his own stamp on country music. So become a fan and come along for the ride!
