Muench...

In early 1974 following a successful career locally as “Brothers Pride”, the Muench brothers changed their name to “Munch” and moved to Toronto. While in Toronto, Munch gained popularity through their concerts on a local radio station, signed a recording contract, and released a single (“I Need Some Rock And Roll”).

Later in 1974, the group moved to Los Angeles to pursue their career; Peggy Rogers of Dick Clark Promotions began managing them. Munch became the opening act for “The Osmonds” on several national tours, as well as appearing in concert with “The Bee Gees” and “Andy Gibb”. Munch also appeared with Dick Clark on the SS Fairseas as the support act for The Coasters, Gary US Bonds, and Freddy Cannon.

In 1976, Munch signed with Republic Records (owned by Gene Autry) and released another single (“Comin’ and Goin’); by 1977 an album was recorded that featured several released singles. The Muench brothers lived and worked in Los Angeles for many years, and became a very popular band at resorts throughout the Southern California area including Palm Springs, Big Bear, Arrowhead, and Orange County.

Over the years, each brother moved back to the Kentuckiana area-with music in their blood, the boys decided to reform the group. Jim Muench, the oldest brother plays guitar and keyboards, and sings; Don Muench, the middle brother plays bass and sings; Steve Muench, the youngest brother plays guitar and sings; Bob Wheatley adds guitar and sings; the band is rounded out by drummer George Prentice.

MUENCH performs songs from the last three decades, with an emphasis on the classic rock of the 70’s and 80’s-you will hear close vocal harmonies blended with intricate guitar harmony based music. MUENCH features the easy guitars and soft rock reminiscent of The Eagles, The Bee Gees and Jackson Browne plus kickin’ guitar solos that are guaranteed to have you out of your seat and up on your feet. It may be “only Rock ‘n’ Roll”, but we guarantee YOU WILL LIKE IT!!
