Louisville KY, November 10, 2010– The New York State Fair has awarded a new five year agreement to Triangle Talent, Inc. to book entertainment for the 2011 through 2015 Fairs. The new contract was awarded after competitive bids were taken in October.
Triangle Talent successfully booked the New York State Fair the past two years. The 2010 Fair was 155 people shy of breaking 1 million customers, a feat that has happened only twice in its 164-year history. This year, the fair drew 999,845 people during the 12-day event—28,572 more than attended last year—making it the third highest attendance in fair history.
In 2010, Grandstand attendance increased by 19% from a near record the previous year, with an average attendance exceeding 10,000 people per show. Gross ticket revenue increased by 54% and exceeded $4.8 million. The 2010 lineup featured:
Tim McGraw and Montgomery Gentry
Rascal Flats, Kellie Pickle and Chris Young
Estimated attendance for Chevy Court shows increased by 15% over 2009’s record setting year. More than 177,000 people attended these free shows. Lady Antebellum attracted more than 28,000 people, shattering the previous Chevy Court attendance record of 18,500 set by Shinedown in 2009. In addition, both Styx and Kansas drew in excess of 16,000 people.
This comes on the heels of Triangle Talent’s successful first year in 2009. For that Fair, Triangle Talent booked Kenny Chesney, Jeff Dunham, Kid Rock, Motley Cure’s CrueFest 2, Darris Rucker, Kelly Clarkson, Shinedown, Boyz II Men and more than 26 other acts. Paid admissions for the 2009 Fair were the highest since 1984, and total attendance was the sixth-highest on record. An estimated 150,000 patrons attended the 24 free performances at Chevy Court, with five acts drawing in excess of 10,000 fans. The seven Mohegan Sun Grandstand paid concerts drew an average of 9,248 fans, up 4.6 percent from 2008.
David Snowden, CEO of Triangle Talent credits the New York State Fair for this success. “The New York State Fair is a great organization and we are pleased to be on their team. We look forward to continuing our long relationship. They recognize the value that entertainment brings to their fair and have invested wisely in getting great acts.”
Snowden noted that Triangle Talent continues to elevate its presence on the national entertainment industry stage. “People are generally surprised to learn that a Louisville Kentucky company is a major factor in entertainment booking. We have continued to add clients because of our great relationships with acts, good advice and service to our clients, and reputation for trustworthiness with everyone.”
